Overview

The Clinical Medicine and Public Health Certificate Program at St. Barnabas Business College (STBBC) is a comprehensive, practice-oriented program designed to produce skilled, compassionate, and community-focused healthcare professionals who can deliver quality clinical care while addressing the broader determinants of health. As South Sudan continues to strengthen its healthcare system and work toward universal health coverage, the demand for healthcare workers who can provide primary care, manage common illnesses, and lead public health initiatives has never been greater.

This integrated certificate program provides students with a solid foundation in both clinical medicine and public health, bridging the gap between individual patient care and population health. The curriculum covers essential clinical topics including anatomy and physiology, medical diagnosis, pharmacology, emergency care, and patient management, alongside core public health subjects such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, disease prevention, health policy, and community health. Students learn to diagnose and treat common medical conditions, manage chronic diseases, respond to health emergencies, and implement public health interventions that address the root causes of illness in communities.

The program emphasizes practical, hands-on training through clinical rotations, community health projects, and public health fieldwork. Graduates emerge as versatile healthcare professionals ready to serve in clinics, hospitals, and communities across South Sudan, contributing to the improvement of health outcomes and the strengthening of the nation's health system.

Program Duration: Typically 1 year

Mode of Study: Classroom-based instruction, clinical skills laboratories, hospital rotations, community health fieldwork, and project-based learning
